Bridgette said the phrase was born from a spontaneous moment a decade earlier when the musical Guys and Dolls came on the radio and became their anthem of devotion.
She recalled, “They started singing it often, and it started from there. It just became another way that they told each other how much they loved each other.” She added, “Merv made sure to say it a lot more these last three years, and Dorothy would never skip a beat.”
Merv Held Her Close As Dorothy Took Her Last Breath
And when Dorothy took her last breath, Merv held her close, showing the kind of love that mirrors God’s own: faithful, enduring, and unshakable.
