Blessed Are the Poor In Spirit
- Updated Oct 22, 2018
“Blessed are the poor in Spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:3). Not only will the poor in Spirit inherit the kingdom of heaven, but they realize their need for God and are teachable. As I work with couples intensively, I have often thought of creating a sign for above the door: “You are safe here. Doubt yourself.” In other words, be teachable. Don’t pretend to know it all, because you don’t. Have a humble, open spirit that is ready for the Spirit of Truth to envelop you.
