The Wedding at Cana was only one of many celebrations we read about in Scripture (John 2:1). While the story unfolds with Jesus performing a miracle, I can’t help but notice the beginning of the story—a wedding took place and Jesus and his disciples were invited. How exciting! Wedding then, as now, were a big deal. They were moments of celebration, with festivities, laughter and gaiety. I believe we are still to be a people of celebration.
