Graceful Presence

Have you ever been with someone and felt instantly at ease? What was it about them that made you feel some comfortable? For me, it’s when someone is comfortable with themselves. They have no need to make an impression. The simply came as they were, able to be fully present to you, and were able to convey their availability through their gentle demeanor. I imagine Christ to have been like that—fully present, comfortable, interested in his guests and fellow travelers. Practice today being ‘gently present.’ Don’t slip into yesterday's regrets or tomorrow's worries, but rather welcome this day and the people in your presence.
