Living in the Corner of a Housetop

Joe met his wife in church and felt that was all the qualifications she needed.  She went to church; she must possess the qualities of a virtuous wife.

It only took a short year of marriage before he discovered he had married a woman who chattered, whined and complained every waking hour.  Her observations were always negative and she was rude.

He found himself working longer hours away from home, when he was home he worked in his workshop for hours.  In essence, he was trying to avoid being around his nagging wife.

This issue needs to be addressed by Godly counsel.  She needs to allow the Holy Spirit to develop gratefulness in her, and he needs to learn that avoidance will not strengthen their marriage.

(Proverbs 21:9) "Better to dwell in a corner of a housetop, than in a house shared with a contentious woman"
