As I write this the wind is blowing, creating waves on the water outside my window. What is the force behind the wind? You might say the wind is caused by the uneven heating of the Earth’s surface, combined with the rotation of the Earth. This would be correct. But I like to think there is a power—God—who designed it all. The story of Creation tells us that in the beginning God created heaven and earth. Therefore, God set everything in motion for there to be wind. We also know from Scripture that Jesus controlled the wind and waves. Next time to listen to the wind whistling through the trees, consider the hand that set it all in motion.
