Rejoice and Weep Together

Barbara was struck by the moment she was witnessing. Her young niece of 36 years had unexpectedly died of a blood clot in the heart. The death of a child is never anticipated. Barbara was at her sister’s to offer support and attend to details for each day.
Sitting on the couch across from her was her sister, Julie, her nephew, her sister’s ex-husband and current husband. They were looking through photo albums and reminiscing. In the midst of the mourning, was a short time of levity and remembrance. The sadness was masked for a brief period, by the happy times of the past.
There was a unity and a support for each other that transcended the broken relationships of the past. This was a picture of what the future will hold after the grieving and healing from the tremendous loss they share together.
(Romans 12:15) Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
