Take Care of Yourself
- Published Jun 03, 2013
This cliché is often given to us, and we nod in affirmation, rarely taking it to heart. If asked if we were really taking good care of ourselves, most of us would have to say ‘no.’ We eat too much, exercise too little, use alcohol, drugs, tobacco and other vices to excess. We work too hard, play too little, spend precious little time in the Word and in prayer. Consider this Scripture: “Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?” (I Corinthians 6:19) If you were to truly accept that fact—that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit—how might you change how you care for yourself?
