Where is Your Hope?

Corine found herself at one of the lowest points in her life. Her youngest child had just married a man that did not appear to take on leadership or responsibility in the home. Corine perceived this was going to be a very hard road for her daughter to travel. The dreams for her child had to be relinquished.
Laid off from his job six months ago, her husband, Al, saw no sight of employment in the near future. The couple had modest debt and was still facing foreclosure on their home.
Corine had lost hope. Through all of the downturns Al managed to maintain some hope in the Lord. It wasn’t so difficult to believe and hold on to faith in God when all was going well. It wasn’t so easy for them now. They made a choice; they decided they would hold on to their faith. They, together, began to look past their circumstances with trust and a new beginning of hope.
(Psalms 71:5) For You are my hope; O Lord GOD, You are my confidence from my youth.
