Scripture tells us to ‘let your yes be yes and your no be no’ (Matthew 5:37). This is such simple counsel and yet so hard to do. When we make clear statements about our intentions we live out our core values. Yet, others don’t necessarily appreciate our boundaries. They push back, manipulate or attempt to coerce us into changing our minds. Being firm and clear is not an attempt to control or manipulate others, but rather a way for us to live out our lives with clarity and dignity. Are you being clear with others? Do they know exactly where you stand on issues? Practice Matthew 5:37 and notice the positive changes.
