Someone has said we are spiritual beings trying to be human. Certainly we have the Holy Spirit resident within us, and yet it is often hard to allow ourselves the foibles of being human. The Apostle Paul reminds us to “not allow sin to reign in our mortal bodies” (Romans 6:12). Therefore, even though we are human, we cannot give sin full reign over us. Yet, we must be prepared to ask for forgiveness when we falter and stumble. We are, after all, just human. Do you strive to honor God and yet ask for forgiveness when you stumble? Do you ask for forgiveness from others when you hurt them? These are the habits we must practice if we are going to grow into the likeness of Christ.
