Hands-on Faith for Families
Week of August 11, 2014
Theme: 1 John 2
Be a Copycat
Play: Make a list of people, such as relatives, celebrities or other individuals, that everyone in your family would know. Have the whole family imitate one person on the list. Decide who did the best impersonation. Continue in this way for each person on your list.
Talk: We often recognize people by their mannerisms and the way they act because what they say and do are familiar to us. To become more familiar with what Jesus said and did while on earth, we can read the Bible and go to church. But if we really want to know Jesus, we must also spend time with Him in prayer so that we understand His heart. In 1 John 2:3-6, the Bible tells us that if we really know Jesus, we will obey His commands and live our lives as He did. What are some ways that you can imitate Jesus?
Pray: Pray that you would know Jesus more, follow His example and obey Him.
