Theme: Jesus is Lord
Christ Is Lord
Play: Take turns pretending to drive a car. The person “driving” tells a fantastic story about where he’s driving (through a rain forest, to the moon, across the desert). Who can tell the most creative story?
Talk: Whoever is driving the car has control over its speed and where it goes. Jesus wants to be the driver in our lives, so He waits for us to scoot into the passenger’s seat and let Him take control. We need to ask Him to “drive.” Philippians 2:10-11 says, “At the name of Jesus every knee should bow . . . and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.” The word Lord simply means “ruler” or “boss” — someone who’s in control. And the great news is that we can trust Him to know the right direction for us to go and how long it will take to get there. What are some ways we can let Jesus be in control of our lives?
Pray: Ask for God’s help to allow Jesus to be in control of your life.
