Hands-on Faith for Families – week of December 14, 2015
Theme: The Season of Giving
You Can Work as a Family to Serve Others
Scripture: “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms” (1 Peter 4:10).
Play: In one minute, name as many parts of a car, and what they do, as you can (headlights give light so we can see where we're going, wheels hold up the car and help it move forward, etc.).
Talk: The Bible says that the body of Christ — the people who serve God — is made of many parts (1 Corinthians 12). Each part is designed by God with a particular purpose. Just like different parts of our car work together to help it run, we can combine our unique talents and abilities to serve others as a family. In 1 Peter 4:10, the Bible says, “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others.” How can our family work together to serve others in our church and community?
Pray: Ask God to help you see the needs around you and respond as a family who serves others well.
