Hands-on Faith for Families – Week of November 14, 2016
Theme: Make Decisions to Glorify God
Wise Decisions
Scripture: If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. (James 1:5 ESV).
Play: See who can answer the most questions correctly: What’s two plus eight? What two colors are mixed to create purple? Who built the ark? Where is our nation’s capital? How many sides does an octagon have?
Talk: Answering those questions didn’t take wisdom. Those answers are things you learned or memorized. Wisdom is different from knowledge. Knowledge requires studying, but true wisdom is knowing the right thing to do in a difficult situation. The Bible tells us that wisdom comes from heaven. God is happy to grant us wisdom. James 1:5 says we only have to ask, and God will give us the wisdom we need. What decisions can you ask God to help you make today?
Pray: Thank God for the people in your life who show you gentleness. Ask God to help you find ways to show His gentleness to others.
