Hold the Things of This World Loosely
“And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that aught of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.” - Acts 4:32
You can tell a lot about a person by what makes him sad, what makes him glad, and what makes him mad. Amen? When a person has joy in the Lord, the things that distress other people are not going to have much effect.
To fully trust in the Lord, there must be—
- a confidence that relies on the Lord.
- a communion that rejoices in the Lord.
- a commitment that rolls burdens onto the Lord.
Have you learned to have joy in the Lord and not in the things of this world? Are you holding the things of this world loosely? If you don’t, God may teach you to do this.
