ONE LONE FRAGILE EGG
Does anyone have a great egg story?
I bought an extra dozen of eggs for my son who was doing an “egg drop” for his science class. He had been working for two weeks creating his contraption made out of toilet paper rolls, straws, toothpicks, a coffee can lid, rubber bands and tape. It was his job to use the materials to design a container that would protect the egg when it was dropped from six feet off of the ground. I took the egg container out of the plastic grocery bag and placed it on the bottom shelf. Quickly, I snatched up the empty (or so I thought) plastic bag. As I swung the bag around, air got caught up in it, and something heavy pulled its weight around, hitting my side.
“What is in here?” I said to myself. As my palm settled on the heavy round thing, I looked inside and saw one lone, fragile egg. “Oh man, I bet it’s a mess in there,” I said to myself. Slowly, I opened the bag and put my hand in it to investigate the degree of mess that lay inside. To my surprise the egg was totally fine! I couldn’t believe it.
“How is that possible, Lord?” I asked as I opened the egg carton and carefully placed the egg back in its private seat among the other 11. God began to speak:
“Kristina, I do the same for you. I did it for you as a child, and I continually do it for you as an adult. You are like that egg. Many circumstances have caused you to be seemingly catapulted out of the safety of a comfortable container, but I have protected you, despite it all. What man says is impossible, I say is possible. What man says is worthless, I say, ‘Ah, but this one, this one is a precious gem, a priceless beauty!’ I am God, and I can hold you in the palm of My hand, regardless of any circumstance. I am Your Father, I can protect you, lift you up, and place you where I say you belong. Many days, years, and decades have seemed like chaotic egg-drops to you, but always remember I know the plans I have for you. I sent My Son to die on the cross for you and for whosoever will believe and accept Him.
Tell others that they too are soo priceless to Me that Jesus paid the ultimate price for them as well.
As you boil Easter Eggs, remember My Son, remember Me. Victory is here and eternity awaits.”
We are more fragile and precious to God than a lone fragile egg. Thank God!
Mk 10:27Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”
