MOSES RECEIVED THE TEN COMMANDMENTS ON THE MOUNTAINTOP
Then Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain and said, “This is what you are to say to the house of Jacob and what you are to tell the people of Israel:
I encourage you to read the book of Exodus and consider how God used Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. For now, I am considering how God brought Moses to the mountain top to talk with him and give him instructions for the people. It was critical for Moses to get alone with God and receive what he needed in order to carry out the assignment(s) God gave him.
Jesus, Himself, got away to pray and spent time alone with God. The world and the people around us can cause us to be and feel so busy that we can’t even hear ourselves think – let alone hear what God wants to lay on our hearts.
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. (Mark 1:35)
Since Jesus was intentional about His prayer time, how much more do we need to be as well?
Warriors know the critical nature that time alone with God has on our thoughts, our words, and our actions. Since we live most of our lives in the valley with a few moments on mountain tops, it is essential that our hearts are consistently nurtured with the Word.
Are you disciplined in ensuring that you spend time with God? If so, please share your testimony with others of the benefits and blessings you have reaped as a result. You will be an encouragement, and you will be encouraged as a result.
There’s Strong. Then There’s God-Strong!
