Finding Freedom from Your Past - Beloved Women - November 5, 2018

TODAY'S ENCOURAGEMENT
In our lives, we have many things that try to drag us back to our past lives before Christ. There are also many things that we were born into that we cannot go back and change. As I think about our daughter that we are presently adopting, I think about the things in her birth family that we do not know and will not be able to tell her. How will this affect her future when she is able to understand?
When I think about the possibilities and how she could be affected, it can be overwhelming. However, when I think about the freedom and peace that Christ gives us there is hope. We must look to Him for comfort from the difficult things in our past that may try to tear us down. We must remember that God can heal, redeem and restore anything from our heritage or past.
Our daughter will not have the privilege of knowing all of her past, but she will know that in Jesus she can have freedom. No matter where she came from she can know that she is defined by who Christ has made her to be and not by the situation she was born into. In Christ alone there is freedom.
PRAY
Lord help us to be women that walk in freedom and look to you for healing and restoration. Thank you Lord that our past, present, and future are in your hands. May we trust in you and not our circumstances.
