Anchor Your Beliefs about You in Truth – Beloved Women – December 10, 2018

TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT
“I’m not smart enough,” were the words that echoed in my head after I made a big mistake. It only took seconds for me to return to my old ways of thinking about me. These words were not rooted in who I am in Christ Jesus but steeped in self-doubt.
We all have defaults in our brain that we may be tempted to believe about ourselves. The danger in trusting these thoughts is how they can overtly and subtly impact our behavior. If we want to act differently we must anchor our thoughts in the truth of God’s word and not our fickle feelings.
When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior we are adopted by God. This means we are God’s daughters, lavishly loved by Him. We may make mistakes but the word of God says that we have the mind of Christ in 1 Corinthians 2: 16b. We must fill the hollow places of our soul with God’s truth until it is cemented in our hearts.
PRAY
Dear God, Thank you for the truth of your word. Help me to anchor my thoughts about me in what I know to be true in the Bible and not my old ways of thinking. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
