Who You Are Matters – Beloved Women – January 29, 2019

Ram was the father of Amminadab. Amminadab was the father of Nahshon, a leader of Judah. - 1 Chronicles 2:10 NLT
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT
“Pay attention to the details as they will get you to the goal; no detail is too small.” My daughter’s soccer coach instills this vital lesson to the team at each practice. Nahshon is described as a leader to the people of Judah. It’s the only thing mentioned about him though he turns out to be a part of the lineage of Jesus Christ - a fulfillment of prophecy. Nahshon is mentioned in Christ’s lineage in the New Testament:
"Ram, the father of Amminadab, Amminadab the father of Nahshon, Nahshon the father of Salmon, Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab, Boaz the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth, Obed the father of Jesse, and Jesse the father of King David." - Matthew 1:4-6 NLT
God is a God of details. Every detail in His word leads us to Him. Did Nahshon know that he would be noted in the line of Christ? No, but he did what he was called to do by being who he was. Like Nahshon, we never know where our story will take us.
PRAY
Lord, help me to remember that I am not insignificant because You made me. Help me to live so that the light you placed in me leaves a significant glow. In Jesus Christ Name, I pray. Amen.
REFLECT
You may feel like an insignificant part of your family, but when history tells your story, it can reveal your significance. What significant role have you played in your family?
