Scroll Through the Scriptures – Beloved Women - April 18, 2019

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. - John 1:1 NIV
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT
In the age of social media, scrolling through Facebook or Instagram accounts have become a way of life and a daily routine for most of us. If I am honest, I scroll through my personal social media accounts more than I need to. While social media does provide good networking, I find it also can be very distracting for productivity.
Many times, I search for my phone before I open my bible in the morning. God’s spirit has convicted me to redirect my attention to God’s word first before anything else. Our first scroll should be through the scriptures and not social media for wisdom, or direction. While social media will one day cease, God’s word will stand forever. As John 1:1 states, the Word was at the beginning of time and will not grow old. I encourage you to reconnect with God’s word and have that be the number one source in your life.
Dear God, thank You for Your Word that is available to me at all times. Please help me to re-prioritize my thoughts and actions to You first. Forgive me when I have allowed external distractions like social media to take me away from seeking You first. Thank You for always allowing me to come back to you. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
