Hands-on Faith for Families – Week of October 28, 2019

Becoming Children of God

Scripture: Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God… (John 1:12)

Play: On a routine trip to school or church, have the kids close their eyes after they buckle up. With their eyes still closed, ask them to guess where they are on the route. After they guess, tell them the correct answer and have them open their eyes.

Talk: Did your kids believe your answer? Specifically ask if they believed you, in part, because you are their parent. God wants us to believe Him, too. He wants us to believe that He brought Jesus back to life, that Jesus is God and that we can completely trust Him. John 1:12 says that when we believe God, we are His children. What are some ways we show that we believe what God says?
