I Am Who God Says that I Am – Beloved Women – May 26, 2020
READ: “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” (Psalm 139:14 ESV)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: Today we live in a society where we can choose our identity, regardless of how real it may or may not be. We can go on social media and pretend or portray to be someone that we are not. It is all for the attention and approval of men determined by how many likes or shares from our status. Some have become so desperate for attention that there isn't any length that they might go to get noticed. Still, all the attention in the world will not heal a broken and empty heart.
From the time that we were born, whether it be good or bad, we were molded and shaped into being something. Our parents may have not affirmed who we were to become or spoke the wrong things into our lives. Those words may affect us through our childhood and still haunt us even as adults. They are the negative words that we continue to rehearse in our minds because they came from the ones who we thought loved us. Despite the negative things that you've been told or may have experienced,you are who God says that you are.
PRAY: Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You that despite the negative things that may have been spoken to me or over my life, and it doesn’t line up with what you have said about me, I don’t have to receive it. Continue to remind me who I am through Your word and that I never lose sight of who You have created me to be. In Jesus’ Name, I pray,Amen.
REFLECT: When you look at yourself in the mirror, what is the image that you see?
