God’s Rock-Solid Love – Beloved Women – December 15, 2023
READ: “Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!” (Psalm 107:1 ESV)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: The huge boulders lean against each other just enough to shade the beautiful, blue pool nestled between them. Each time my family and I crawl between them to reach the sheltered beach, we trust that they are unshakable and immovable. Thankfully, they have remained fixed and firm despite the passage of several earthquake swarms and major hurricanes.
As I read Psalm 107, the word ‘steadfast’ stops me in my tracks. Stable, sure, trusty, unshaken, constant. Despite my flaws and failures which sometimes cause me to feel unlovable or the storms of life that leave me feeling forgotten, God’s word reminds me that His love for me is constant. Dependable. It is not reliant on my faulty attempts to be good, but fully dependent on who God is. In fact, nothing can separate me from God’s love (Romans 8:39).
So, when doubts assail us, worries keep us up at night, or insecurities threaten to cripple us, let us meditate on the steadfastness of God’s love. It is unchangeable, undeserved, and everlasting! It is for you and me. It offers us unity with Christ and empowers us to live for Him. God’s love is a rock we can stand on.
PRAY: Dear Heavenly Father, Despite my wandering soul, Your love remains faithful. I did nothing to earn it and do not deserve it, yet I can depend on the constant of Your love in my life. Thank You for Your love that knows no bounds. May I be changed and empowered by it, and never fail to cherish it. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
REFLECT: Do you sometimes take God’s love for granted? How can you live amazed at God’s goodness today?
