Pour Out Your Heart to God - Beloved Women - February 26, 2024
READ: “Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Selah.” (Psalms 62:8 ESV)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: When God created us, He gave us the gift of emotions. But this gift may feel more like a burden when we've received bad news, or we’ve wrestled with hurt for a while. But truth hovers over our heartache. Since our emotions are God-given, they can also become God-driven. We may tag our experiences -- #hurt #anger #lonely - but each experience is meant to turn us towards Him. Sometimes I miss the turn. But there's always another side to pain. Healing awaits in the moments where I'm teachable and tuned into God's word.
After all, His truth comes to set us free. We can trust Him at all times. It happens when I'm no longer defined by what was done to me or what failed in me. Instead, I'm overwhelmed by what Christ did for me. Then a pouring comes from my heart to His. If that’s you too, let’s learn to rest in our Refuge and receive help for life’s hurts.
PRAY: Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for the gift of emotions. Regardless of how I feel, I can trust in You at all times - on good days and bad days. Wherever my heart hurts, I invite You in to heal me and help me to see the injury creates sacred intimacy as I trust in You, my Refuge. In Jesus’s Name, I pray. Amen.
REFLECT: How could pouring out your heart to God prepare you for His plan?
