Never Laugh at God’s Plan - Beloved Women - May 2, 2024
READ: “Now Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in years. The way of women had ceased to be with Sarah. So Sarah laughed to herself, saying, ‘After I am worn out, and my lord is old, shall I have pleasure?’” (Genesis 18:11-12 ESV)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: Has the Lord ever given you a dream or promise that seemed impossible? I can say that there have been numerous times of doubting how God could possibly do “that” for a person “like me.”
Apparently, Sarah thought the same thing. In Genesis, God informs Abraham (Sarah's husband) that she will soon be pregnant. No big deal, right? The issue was that Sarah was 90 years old. So, when the Lord spoke that she would have a child rather than simply believe…
She laughed.
I am sure many of us can relate to Sarah's reaction. It would take a miracle for a woman of her age to have children. However, God is in the business of making the impossible, POSSIBLE.
It turns out that Sarah does get pregnant, just as the Lord said.
The impossible, highly unlikely, "yeah-right situation" came true.
No matter what you are facing today, remember we serve a God who can do anything! Never laugh or deny God's ability to move in your situation. He may surprise you with a blessing no one could see coming!
PRAY: Father, I thank You for what You want to birth through me. Lord, I ask that You forgive me for the silent doubts that have taken over my thoughts. I surrender my plans to You and ask that You give me eyes to see the bigger plan. I trust You Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
REFLECT: Is there an area of your life where you doubt God’s ability?
