A Persistently Prayerful Heart - Beloved Women - May 17, 2024
READ: “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7 ESV)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: The words of Jesus in Matthew 7:7 create the rhythm of a persistently prayerful heart. Ask. Seek. Knock. Repeat.
I need the rhythm of these verses to rise in me. They serve as a filter for my motives and test my resolve to trust God.
Either I keep asking Him to fill me with His love or I look for fulfillment elsewhere.
I keep seeking His truth or I lean to my own understanding.
I keep knocking on the door of His will or I create something I'll later regret.
Ask. Seek. Knock. Repeat.
The rhythm creates a dependence on God. It stirs our faith and prepares our heart to receive His grace.
Whether we're concerned about small things, big ideas or troubling circumstances, a persistently prayerful heart becomes an anticipating soul.
God always answers prayer. We may not understand His choices. But we can always trust He meets needs, reveals truth and opens unimaginable doors. He does it in His timing, for our good and His glory.
Whatever you’re waiting on, don’t give up my friend. His Perfection invites our persistence!
PRAY: Dear God, Thank You for inviting me to bring every “ask” to You, because You always answer. Thank you for inviting me to seek You, because You will reveal Yourself and Your truth. I’ll keep knocking on the door of Your will because You open doors no one can close. Strengthen me as I wait for when and how You'll answer. I know it will be for my good and Your glory! In Jesus Christ Name, I pray. Amen.
REFLECT: A persistently prayerful heart becomes an anticipating soul. What are you anticipating from God?
