By His Wounds We Are Healed - Beloved Women - May 24, 2024
READ: “But he was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5 ESV).
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: Kintsugi is the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold. In this ancient art, the fine strands of gold connect the broken pieces. The finished restored product highlights the slivers of gold used to mend it creating a picture of perfection.
Often we try to hide our blemishes - we cover up scars with makeup, tone down our personalities, or try to make ourselves fit in. We perceive flaws in our created selves as things to be hidden.
But God chooses to mend us, letting us know that every part of us is worthy when he binds us with his blood. His blood is like precious gold, so let Him fill in the gaps of your wounded soul.
PRAY: Dear Lord, I’m grateful for Your restoration in my life, for making me whole again, and mending the broken pieces of me. Thank You that You are a God that restores beautifully. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
REFLECT: How can you turn your wounds over to God today?
