At the start of this video, a sweet young girl with long curly hair in a red dress steps out on The Voice Kids stage. When the judges first hear her angelic voice they appear to know right off the bat that this is a very young girl.
Their expressions are so precious. They giggle with joy over her performance. Lena debates pressing the button but in the end, Henning turns his chair. This little girl has a large talent for her young age. She sings with conviction and confidence.
Henning stands and tells her “Bravo!” One judge tells her that if someone were to paint a princess she would look like her. The girl’s name is Emmie Lee. When asked how old she is, the girl responds that she is only eight years old.
Henning comes up and wants her to sing something else. The precious young girl begins to sing “Bee” by Lena. Lena smiles and cries into her hands. Lena goes up and gets on her knees and sings with the little angel.
Emmie Lee reminds us to be brave. It takes a lot of courage to step out and be vulnerable with your voice on a worldwide stage. This young girl walked out with her head held high and confidence in her posture. In the same way, we need to be brave in our walks with God. We are called to be confident in His love for us and His hope for the world.
“So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.” Hebrews 10:35-36
