We Don’t Know Everything - Love Worth Finding - October 21

October 21, 2023 – We Don’t Know Everything
Romans 12:3
Sermon: 2113 When We All Get to Heaven, Part 2

Pray Over This

“For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.”
Romans 12:3

Ponder This

One way to give a good witness for the Lord Jesus Christ is to tell what you know, not what you don’t. Many of us are afraid to witness because we’re afraid somebody’s going to ask us a question we can’t answer. Let me give you the perfect answer. Just say, “I don’t know.” Isn’t that a good answer? You know, if you tell people that you don’t know when you don’t know, maybe they’ll believe you when you tell them what you do know. There are a lot of things about the future that you don’t know. Don’t worry about it. These things have been kept from us on purpose. Jesus said, “I still have many things to tell you, but you cannot bear them now” (John 16:12). And in Daniel’s vision he heard, “shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end” (Daniel 12:4a).

A 4-year-old can ask questions nobody can answer except God. So don’t try to explain everything. We have hints and clues. The one thing we do know is that one day we’re going to be like Jesus, and that’s good enough for me.

  • When have you struggled with the unknowns of the Christian faith?
  • Why is it difficult to admit we don’t know the answer to a question? How does admitting this show greater dependence on God?
