Former NFL Player Emmanuel Acho is opening up about what he believes to be the secret to greatness. And it all centers around obedience to God!
Most people want to do things that matter and make a difference. Individuals have a desire to know that their existence means something. Who doesn't want to live a life of significance? But that is much easier said than done.
God has a unique will, plan, and purpose for each human life. No one is put on Earth by mistake or happenstance. The Lord wants to achieve something great in and through every life. But to do that, to know, understand, and fulfill God's will for our lives requires obedience on our part.
Finding The Secret To Greatness
In a conversation with Christian musician Lecrae about the importance of talent and obedience, Emmanuel stated that he believes obedience will win out every time. He even points to specific people in the Bible who were obedient and says that God used them to achieve greatness.
"And so, I went on this goose chase, Old Testament of just, like, Moses, with Samson, Esther, whether it was Elijah, like what was the secret?" Emmanuel said. "And they all were obedient, and if they weren't obedient, that's when they lost favor."
Emmanuel adds that God can use anyone with any skill level or ability, but the Lord wants someone obedient to Him and His commands. In the Bible, God repeatedly used ordinary people to do extraordinary things.
"Yo, it's not just about being talented," he said. "I always tell people I'm talented, but I ain't that talented, you feel me? I ain't that talented. Are you willing to be obedient? That, to me, is the secret power to greatness."
God is capable of miracles, more than anything we could ever imagine, and he has plans to include us but obedience to Him and His will is a must.
Luke 9:23 "And he said to them all, ‘If any man has a desire to come after me, let him give up all, and take up his cross every day, and come after me.'"
