There’s nothing quite like the unique bond between a mother and daughter. For Sandra Stanley and Allie Stanley Cooney, this connection goes beyond the usual family ties; it’s a relationship they are eager to share and help others cultivate. Sandra, the wife of influential pastor Andy Stanley, and her daughter, Allie, have co-authored a book titled Meet Me in the Middle. The book aims to guide mothers and daughters toward building healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

Sandra and Allie openly admit that their journey together hasn't always been smooth. They are wired differently: “My mom is very organized, and I’m not,” Allie admits. Despite their differences, the bond between them is authentic and strong. Their shared project began when Allie was pregnant with her son, sparking a deeper reflection on their relationship and the unique challenges and joys they’ve faced together.

Writing Meet Me in the Middle became a journey down memory lane for Sandra, who found the process enlightening as she and Allie worked to define eight principles that have strengthened their bond. Sandra reflects, “I’m accustomed to her strengths because she has all of Andy's gifts, that same gift set for creating and delivering content. Allie has been using these talents in such a beautiful way.”

In their first sit-down video interview, Sandra and Allie lean into their belief that any mother and daughter can achieve the relationship God has intended for them, provided they are willing to follow His plan. With Meet Me in the Middle, they hope to inspire others to embrace the unique journey of mother-daughter relationships and find the balance that strengthens their bond.
