Music comes in all genres, styles, and formats, including covers. Musicians have likely been performing covers since humans started making sounds. Playing songs initially written, recorded and performed by other musicians is an age-old tradition and practice that will most certainly continue well into the future.
Who doesn't enjoy hearing someone else's interpretation of a beloved and classic tune? Of course, not all covers are created equal; that much is entirely accurate. Some covers will be so bad that they may actually ruin the original version for you. However, you may find you like a cover better than the first version.
Powerful Rendition of ‘I Will Always Love You’ Is Fantastic
In a clip posted on YouTube, Erik covers ‘I Will Always Love You.’ This is a song that everyone likely knows very well. The popular track was originally written and recorded by none other than Dolly Parton in the early 1970s. Then, in the early 90s, Whitney Houston covered the classic song.
Whitney and Dolly are two legendary musicians. Their unique sound and style are nearly impossible to replicate. The best anyone covering their music could do is to take it in another direction and make it their own, which is precisely what Erik has done.
Erik's cover of ‘I Will Always Love You’ is simply fantastic. He shows off his powerful, beautiful voice and awe-inspiring range, giving the tune a rock sound and feel. Throughout the nearly four-and-a-half-minute clip, the singer from Sweden consistently hits high notes, reminiscent of Whitney Houston's version.
Fans of Dolly's original and Whitney's cover of ‘I Will Always Love You’ will surely be more than pleased with Erik's cover. This young man is clearly incredibly talented and blessed with a strong and powerful voice.
Colossians 3:16 "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."
