I think we can all remember where we were during the tragic events of September 11th. It is truly a day that we will never forget. Nearly 3,000 lives were lost that day, and we still continue to mourn for each life lost. Country music legend Alan Jackson touched hearts all over the world with his song ‘Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning)' after the September 11th attack.
‘I'm just a singer of simple songs
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN, but I'm not sure I can tell you
The difference in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus, and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith, hope, and love are some good things He gave us
And the greatest is love’
This beautiful tribute truly puts all of the emotions from that day into lyrics, and every year it, the words become stronger and stronger. I cried the first time I heard this song, and I'm crying again now. Even though many years have passed, this moment is still fresh in all of our minds.
Despite the tragedy, this song is the perfect reminder that God and His love are the greatest things on the Earth. Through tears, we were brought closer to God and our faith. May we never forget the lives lost and the ultimate sacrifice many made to try and save their fallen friends. Let us continue to pray for our country each and every day.
