What's the Key to Healing When You Can't Forget the Hurt?

Jonathan Pokluda

I can't forget what happened to me. I can't willingly remove it from my brain, but I can stop willingly remembering it, meaning I can stop revisiting it. I can stop thinking about what happened and look at the Gospel.

All of the things that you have done, everything that you've done wrong, you have done against God. Our sins are against a holy, almighty, perfect, sovereign, all-powerful God, and that God looks at you and through the cross says, I absolve you of your sins, that you are no longer held eternally responsible for the crimes that you have committed against me, and He forgives us. As we look at the Gospel, we understand that we have received grace, are recipients of grace, and are to pass grace on to others.
