Many people tend to grumble and complain when something doesn’t go their way. It could be the smallest, most insignificant thing, but if it doesn’t go the exact way we want, the whining will quickly follow. We react as if the world is ending, and this or that occurrence will negatively impact our lives forever.
Then, there are people who, no matter what life throws their way, always manage to look at the bright side. They don’t let much get in their way and persist and persevere despite their obstacles and hurdles. Austin LeRette is one of these kinds of people.
“The Unbreakable Boy” is a film based on the life of Austin LeRette, a young man with brittle bone disease and autism. As the trailer shows, no matter what Austin faces or who he encounters, he sees an opportunity to do good. He possesses a joyful, unbreakable spirit.
In addition to Austin’s ups and downs and the less-than-loving treatment he receives from others, the trailer also focuses on Scott LeRette, Austin’s father, played by Zachary in the film. Scott struggles despite his effort and immense love for Austin, believing he’s failing every day to provide the care his son needs.
As the trailer shows, Austin’s way of being and looking at the world positively impacts everyone who crosses his path, including his father.
“I wish I could enjoy anything as much as my son enjoys everything,” Zachary, as Scott, says in the film. “Because to Austin, every day can be the best day, every moment the best moment. You just have to be able to see it.”
