1. Remembering You Are an Ambassador of the Kingdom
Do you realize that you have been given a unique position in your place of work for the Kingdom of Heaven? No matter what profession you are in, you have an opportunity not just to share about your faith but also to live it out. Someone who lived by example was Fred Rogers, commonly known as "Mr. Rogers." He once offered, "You don't need to speak overtly about religion to get a message across." (Tuttle, 2019).
In the same way, we don't need to be overt about speaking about our faith to live out what it means to be a Christ follower at work. Remember that you are an ambassador of the Kingdom of Heaven when you are a child of God (2 Corinthians 5:20). Keep this in mind as you work alongside those around you; how you act will always reveal more than what you say.
2. Noticing Details and Offering Support

2. Noticing Details and Offering Support
SLIDE 1 OF 7
A distinct way to live out faith at work is offering encouragement, support, and kindness towards others. A way to do this is by noticing details about someone, not just viewing them for their role at work alone. A little encouragement can go a long way. Hebrews 10:24-25 reminds us, "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
If this is something you are not great at doing, invite the Lord to reveal how you can be supportive and uplifting to those around you. When we let God give us a glimpse of how He sees others and what is important to them, we can then come alongside them at a heart level.
3. Developing Relationships and Investing in Others

3. Developing Relationships and Investing in Others
SLIDE 2 OF 7
One of the most prominent ways Jesus taught others was by coming alongside them and offering truths in profound ways that they would understand. When He was among fishermen, He would use fishing references. When among farmers, He would use animal comparisons. It was in such a way that they could relate and understand. If you are seeking to develop relationships at work, much of that comes from investing in others. Ask them what interests they have, see if you share in a common hobby or interest, and use that as something to relate with. This is not to be manipulative or in motive of just inviting someone to church, but what it offers is a cultivation of fellowship so that there is a rooted and established friendship. This can help your coworker know that you value them as a person and that if and when they have questions of faith, you could be someone they could relate to in real, raw conversations.
4. Not Gossiping

Gossip does not end on the schoolyard. It often finds itself in a mundane workspace, but that does not mean it is a good thing to spread. Ephesians 4:29 highlights: "Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear."
If we really want to live differently and walk as the new, redeemed man, we must put away things like gossip. It may not be popular to do, but it will make a difference not only for the person being slandered or talked about but also for your own heart. Living by this example is a way to love others, even if they are unaware that the spreading stopped with you.

5. Being Careful Not to Judge

5. Being Careful Not to Judge

Christians are often accused of being judgmental; it is one of the most predominant slanders that come against us, but we do not need to perpetuate that idea. Matthew 7:1 speaks of the woman caught in adultery. When she is about to be stoned, Jesus begins to write in the dirt the sins of those present and says, "Do not judge, or you too will be judged." As easy as it is to judge others it is imperative that we do not take on that position. This does not mean encouraging others to sin, but it does mean not being the judge in the matter but instead leaving that to God. If this is something you struggle with, invite the Lord to assist you so that you can overcome this temptation to judge.
6. Extending Patience

6. Extending Patience

Galatians 5:22 showcases the fruits of the Spirit, and one of the most important is that of patience. Patience is not easy, especially in the workplace when you want things done efficiently, but when you extend patience to others when they expect a scolding it will surprise them in a very good way. Remember that there have been times when you too have been the person needing a little extra patience, or a little extra help and what a difference it could have made or a difference it did make when that was offered to you. Take the initiative to ask the Holy Spirit to help you do this at work, it will make a difference for those around you.
7. Offering to Pray

You do not need to be overt about your faith, but it makes a drastic difference for those going through a hard time when you offer an ear to listen and pray for someone. Tragedy, hard times, and trials hit us all, but when someone comes alongside us with unexpected warmth and empathy, it is there that we are living out the Good News. We are offering hope to the brokenhearted, peace to the anxious, and love to the hurting. It also provides a door where you can speak about your own experiences or those you have known who have seen God help them in a very difficult time or season. Testimony is a great and powerful reminder that we have a living and active God! Don't stray from offering to pray!
8. Living by Example: Counter-Cultural

8. Living by Example: Counter-Cultural
SLIDE 7 OF 7
One of the most remarkable ways we can share Christ's love at work is by living by His example. This example is very counter cultural because it means living a new, changed life rooted in the Word. Take time to dig into scripture and see what it really means to live a life by His Spirit (Galatians 5:25) and one that is made new (Ephesians 4:24). Others will notice that you don't live like everyone else, and it may spark curiosity in them of what it means to really live a life following Christ. It is there that you can actively share about the relationship, renewal, and radical love you have experienced in knowing Christ as Savior.
