Saturday Morning Benedictions from Scripture
Slide 2 of 7
“Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:12-13 ESV). May you seek Your Heavenly Father with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength. Be confident that You will find Him, and He will hear your prayers.
“The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18 ESV). Are you brokenhearted or crushed in spirit? May you find comfort in knowing that the LORD is close, that He cares, and is ever near you.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law” (Galatians 5:22-23 ESV). May the Holy Spirit’s continuous work in You (molding, pressing, and pruning) cultivate a deeply-rooted life that refuses to sway, continually bearing eternal fruit for God’s glory!
“If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit” (Galatians 5:25). May you not dash ahead of the Holy Spirit in an attempt to “fix” things or lag behind from the weight of fear or worry that is no longer yours to carry. Instead, find joy in listening to His voice and peace through quick obedience.
“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world” (1 John 4:4). May you remain immovable, holding fast to your faith when the enemy tries to convince you that he has power over you, for he does not. Your Almighty God, Prince of Peace, Alpha and Omega, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords, is in you and far greater than the one in the world. Living in this reality will transform your life.
“His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master’” (Matthew 25:21 ESV). May you live in the light that God takes notice of your faithfulness, even in the slightest, most hidden ways. Your choices matter for an eternity.
“His brothers also came and fell down before him and said, ‘Behold, we are your servants.’ But Joseph said to them, ‘Do not fear, for am I in the place of God? As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today’” (Genesis 50:18-20 ESV). May you remain grateful and alert to how God brings good from the enemy’s evil attempts against you.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9 ESV). Remember, you are fully equipped for every spiritual battle. May you take up the shield of faith and wield the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, as you follow your leader, the LORD your God, for He is with you wherever you go.
“For I, the LORD your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, ‘Fear not, I am the one who helps you’” (Isaiah 41:13 ESV). May you find complete peace in the LORD your God, for the same One who holds all authority also holds your right hand, helping you every step of the way.
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire, you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior” (Isaiah 43:2-3 ESV). When you feel overtaken, overwhelmed, or tried by fire, may you find the solid ground of peace by remembering the goodness of the LORD your God and Savior. You will not sink, be swept away, or be consumed by any trial as you keep your eyes fixed on Him. He will rescue you.
