Anthony Evans’ Powerful 'In Christ Alone' Performance Will Give You Chills

It’s safe to say contemporary Christian music has overtaken hymns in terms of popularity. Songs by talented Christian artists such as Lauren Daigle, Matthew West, Chris Tomlin, Jeremy Camp, and others can be easily found and heard on radio stations. Even many churches and other places of worship have moved away from hymns to go with contemporary Christian hits.

When it comes to hymns and contemporary Christian music, it’s all a matter of preference. I would much rather hear “Amazing Grace” or “How Great Thou Art” in church over a newer, modern Christian tune. However, I understand entirely why someone might feel differently. Again, everyone has an opinion, and sometimes people disagree.

But whatever your opinion is regarding your preference between hymns and contemporary Christian music, everyone can agree that Anthony Evans is a supremely talented musician. He has been blessed with a voice from the heavens. His vocal performances are always more than worth a listen.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Anthony gives another powerhouse performance. This time, he sings the beloved and classic hit “In Christ Alone.” The beautiful song reminds us that we are nothing without the Lord. Because of Him, we have faith and hope for a future. We can be forgiven and experience eternal life because of His sacrifice on the cross.

“In Christ alone, my hope is found

He is my light, my strength, my song

This Cornerstone, this solid ground

Firm through the fiercest drought and storm”

What beautiful and true words!

Colossians 3:16: “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
