Boom! THAT'S the Way You Show the Fruit of the Spirit

"Fun" may not be listed as part of the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22–23, but this high-energy version will help you dance through all nine in a super engaging way.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23)

The Greek word translated as “fruit” refers to the natural product of a living thing. Paul used “fruit” to help us understand the product of the Holy Spirit, who lives inside every believer. The fruit of the Spirit is produced by the Spirit, not by the Christian. The Greek word is singular, showing that “fruit” is a unified whole, not independent characteristics. As we grow, all the characteristics of Christ will be manifested in our lives.

Since God’s goal for all His children is for us to be like Jesus (Romans 8:29), the Holy Spirit constantly works to rid our lives of the “acts of the sinful nature” (Gal 5:19) and display His fruit instead. Therefore, the presence of the “fruit of the Spirit” is evidence that our character is becoming more like Christ’s. (excerpt provided by "What are the Fruit of the Spirit?")

A Prayer for the Fruit of the Spirit in Your Own Life: "Father God, I come before you today with a repentant heart seeking to become more like Christ. Lord, I want to love like Jesus loved, I want joy to even in the midst of suffering because I know you have a plan, I want the deep peace that only you can give. God, I help me to show kindness and gentleness because it's who I am, not because of how I've been treated. Give me self-control over the sinful desires of the flesh to react selflessly. And lastly, grow my faithfulness as I trust you through each day. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen."
