Singer Chris Tomlin didn't have a movie in mind when he sat down to write a song titled No Greater Love a year ago about Christ's sacrifice on the crossBut when Tomlin became executive producer of a movie about that very subject several months later, he realized he had the perfect tune to accompany it.

That film, The Last Supper (PG-13), follows the story of Jesus' last days on earth as seen through the eyes of those who walked with Him. It opens in theaters March 14.

No Greater Love plays during the credits.

"It's crazy. When people watch the movie, they're going to think [that] I just watched the movie and just wrote the song," Tomlin told Crosswalk Headlines. "[But] I did not even know this movie when I wrote the song. It was one of those moments where God was putting it together. It had that little God wink of like, 'I'm doing something here. I'm putting the pieces together' -- and you don't even know it."

Pinnacle Peak (The Case for Christ, God's Not Dead) and Great American Pure Flix are two of the companies behind it.

"This isn't Hollywood," Tomlin said of the filmmaking team. "This is people who really want to share the gospel and share the love of God with people."

Tomlin is best known as a songwriter and worship leader, having written and performed modern worship anthems such as How Great Is Our God and Made to Worship and having won multiple Dove Awards and a Grammy.
