‘Father Stu’ is an upcoming film based on the true story of Stuart Long. Stuart is a former amateur boxer who had to stop fighting after a career-ending injury. As he travels to LA to pursue his Hollywood dream, he makes ends meet as a supermarket cashier. But then, he meets a Catholic Sunday school teacher who he hopes to impress by getting baptized.

However, a traumatic motorcycle accident changes Stuart’s entire life and leads him on an entirely new path towards God.

In this video, Mark sits down with late night host Jimmy Fallon and gives a behind the scenes look at ‘Father Stu.’ He told Jimmy that he had to consume 11,000 calories for two weeks in order to play the role.

During the interview, Mark also mentioned how motivated he was to get ‘Father Stu’ to the big screen. “I’ve been trying to get this movie made for six years. We only had 30 days to shoot it. And so, I wanted to really make it happen. And we’re also crazy enough to have financed a lot of it myself.”

At the age of 50, Mark has felt a renewed spark in his faith. Speaking with FOX News, he said, "It's certainly a turning point for me in my life… I need to stop focusing so much on Mark and start doing much more work for God and for people and for people that are less fortunate."

‘Father Stu’ will open exclusively in theaters on April 15, 2022.
