Grammy-nominated duo For King & Country is bringing their cherished holiday concert tradition, A Drummer Boy Christmas, to theaters nationwide for the first time ever Dec. 5-9. The new project comes months after singers Joel and Luke Smallbone featured their family’s story in the biopic Unsung Hero. The brothers promise to deliver a “sonic journey that blends the sights and sounds of the season with musical mastery, heartwarming storytelling, and dazzling production.”
Joel Smallbone tells Crosswalk Headlines the film could not have come at a better time. "We just need Christmas more than ever. We need to talk about love and joy and peace and celebrate these great attributes of what we aspire to be as humans."
The show was originally a live concert that the band performed at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, with 12,000 people in attendance. Due to the shortness of the Christmas season, they plan on showcasing the musical experiences in theaters nationwide since the Christmas season is short.
Overall, Smallbone said the upcoming project is all about honoring the birth of Jesus Christ, which is the true meaning of Christmas.
