'Praise You in This Storm' Casting Crowns and Phil Wickham

Get your worship on with ‘Praise You In This Storm’ by contemporary Christian artists Casting Crowns and Phil Wickham. For years, this Casting Crowns hit has brought us peace and comfort in life’s storms to so many people around the world. Since 2014, when the song was released on their album ‘Thrive,’ it has become a staple in worship.

And every tear I've cried, You hold in your hand never left my side and though my heart is torn, will praise you in this storm

The slower tempo and pace of the song combined with Phil Wickham allows the listener to soak into the rich Biblical meaning of the lyrics. We are reminded no matter what is happening in life, God is by our side. Every tear is held in His hands. The song was inspired by Casting Crowns' experience with Erin Browning, a young girl dying of cancer.

The band had the sacred honor of walking with her family through her illness and passing. It was an incredible moment to watch Erin’s family praise God after Erin passed away. Mark Hall, a band member of Casting Crowns, said they watched Erin’s mother praising God.

"Watching [Erin's mother] walk through this really showed me the truth about my worship. Watching her walk through a real storm showed me that my worship was extremely situational,” He said

Today, Casting Crowns is teaming up with Phil Wickham for a special edition of this blessed song. For years, Phil has been using his God-given talent to reach hearts around the world for Christ. Since the age of 13, Phil has been a part of the worship team at his church.

He felt called to become a worship leader, but he had no idea God had even bigger plans in store for him. Today, he takes his passion for Christ to a whole new level with his talent as he performs right alongside Casting Crowns. It’s a song you don’t want to miss.

No matter what situation you’re facing, we hope this song and the meaning behind it have been a blessing.

James 1:12: “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.”
